In the wake of my last surgery (long story.. basically a tumor with a death wish growing on my euterus that had to be removed asap.. VERY PAINFUL x.x...and the fact that i'm 5 months pregnant didn't help things, either), my mom came over to my house for like a week straight and spent the entire day cleaning and cooking and looking after me. She doesn't even think twice about that kind of kindness and devotion to one of her children, but it sure made me think!
So it's not much, but since mom loves birds, I did this featherpainting for her of some of her favorites. The blue front amazon on the bottom is actually her own beloved parrot, Jonnie, who passed away last winter.

frustratingly, Jonnie is the only one that I wasn't entirely happy with the way he turned out... bad refrence photo, mostly. Oh well. Mom would like it if it was a stick figure with wings. :}

i absolutely adore the cockatoo, well i like them all but i have a thing for aussie birds. im stricken dead by how talented these feather painters are, imcluding yourself. ive tried doing it once and i failed, but i dont paint much and do more dry materials. your so lucky u can paint like that, im so glad your mum liked it, she deserved it
