Still slowly, slowly picking away at my lengthy commission list.. this was one of the left over Japan relief ones, for
I shall now be very specific about how I created this -
I used one of Tambako the Jaguar's photos, which I have permission to use, and is here, in his amazing gallery:

The wolf itself I completely re-painted myself, from the ground up, though as is my perfectionist obsessive tendency... it didn't end up deviating much from the photo. Oh well. Better luck next time?
The background is a combination of painting some random blobs over the original photo and a photoshop filter or two.
I'm being so specifically weird as to how I created this because it has ended up straddling the "paintover" and "digital painting" categories...it does lean much more heavily into "digital painting", but I didn't want anyone to think I was trying to pull the wool over their eyes, or something. :}
