So I love listening to audio books while i work on my art... it's perfect for distracting the busy part of my brain, so that the "art" part can work without 500 interruptions. XD

And i'm sort of at a loss as what to download next..
So I was hoping some of you could make me some recommendations!

We're (my husband and I... he often listens in, too) mostly open to anything.. although I think at this point we prefer fiction over non fiction.
We've gone through all the Harry Potters, the Artemis Fowl series, Lemony Snicket's Series of Unfortunate Events, the Inkheart series...
Also both 1984 and Animal Farm.
On my own I've listened to Bitten and Blood and Chocolate, which are both werewolf stories...

Tried twilight but it was like cruel and unusual punishment, so I gave up on that one. x.x

Also Vurt.. which I love all of Jeff Noon's stuff..

Ummm... I'm definitely more open than Jared is.. he's a bit more picky.. he just gets bored really easy. o.o

so.. start throwing some suggestions at me, and I'd really really appreciate it!
thanks a million guys, you know i love ya :D

I'm an audiobook addict, hard to turn a wrench with a book in your hands. I have listened to the 'Dark Tower' Series by Stephen King several times (after reading the series) also most King books are well listened. My wife has read most of Patricia Briggs' books and I have listened to (2) and I can't wait to get more, truly awesome. I highly recommend "The Good Guy", "Tick-Tock" and "Twilight Eyes" by Dean Koontz, I'll also recommend S.M. Stirling's "Dies the Fire" series but would also recommend the Abrigded versions he gets alittle long in describing no essiantials.

Let me know if I've helped, got alot more suggestions.

I saw this note and got excited x3 Try The Wheel of Time Series, by Robert Jordan. It's amazing, I'm not a fantasy reader but when I picked it up I went and bought all 11 volumes. It's really wonderful.

If you like more medieval fantasy, then I reccommend The Age of Fire series by E.E. Knight. It's kind of hard to explain what it's about, but basically it goes through the lives and adventures of three dragon hatchlings after their parents were killed. Definitely unlike the more...generic mass-produced fantasy you see around.

For animal fantasy, I suggest the Silverwing series, that's through the eyes of bats. Kenneth Oppel is such a beautiful writer!

Actually, I'm more with you. I haven't read anything good or deep in a while. ;__; This was a long while ago, but I read Bram Stoker's Dracula and fell in love. If you want a good, original, can't-put-me-down vampire tale, get that! It starts off slow but it's REALLY intense.

Ooh, where do you download audio books? Are they free, or do you have to pay for them? I really want to start listening to the while I workon art too, but I've never known where to start!

For older books that are in the public domain (and freely downloaded!) go to librivox.org. These are pre-1913 works, which you can download in itunes or mp3 files.

Anything by Terry Pratchett. If possible look for the unabridged versions of the Discworld novels, read by Nigel Planer.
